University Cooperation: Ambassador Inza Camara Impressed by the UVCI Model
During a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Virtual University of Côte d’Ivoire (UVCI) on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Ambassador Inza Camara praised the institution’s innovative model and expressed his willingness to facilitate partnerships with higher education institutions in the Americas.
The Virtual University of Côte d’Ivoire’s distance learning model and innovative initiatives continue to attract interest. On Thursday, October 22, 2026, the Consul General of Côte d’Ivoire to the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Ambassador Inza Camara, paid a courtesy visit to the president of the UVCI, Professor Koné Tiémoman.
The meeting included a guided tour of the university’s facilities, notably the educational studio and the Fab Lab. The diplomat was able to explore the facilities used to produce audiovisual resources for distance learning, as well as the initiatives developed by the students.
Impressed by the achievements on display, Ambassador Inza Camara expressed his satisfaction with the warm welcome he received and his experience of the university environment. In particular, he encouraged greater visibility of the UVCI model among stakeholders in higher education.
“More people need to come here to draw inspiration from what you’re doing,” he said, highlighting the value of the initiatives developed by the Ivorian institution.
Prospects for Cooperation with Universities in the Americas
Beyond exploring the facilities, this visit opened up opportunities for closer ties between UVCI and higher education institutions in the Americas.
Ambassador Inza Camara reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the university in this effort by facilitating connections with institutions that could develop academic and university partnerships.
“If you wish to collaborate with universities in the United States, please do not hesitate to let us know. We can support you and help you establish the necessary contacts,” he assured.
This support represents an opportunity for UVCI to strengthen its international outreach, diversify its partnerships, and explore new avenues for cooperation for the benefit of its academic community.
Employability, at the Heart of the UVCI’s Vision
Welcoming this prospect, UVCI President Professor Koné Tiémoman emphasized that academic partnerships are not an end in themselves, but a means to address a major challenge: the employability of students.
“We are interested in the academic and university aspects of cooperation. But these are more of a means than an end. Our true goal is the employability of the people we educate,” he explained.
For the institution’s head, education must enable students not only to enter the job market but also to develop the skills and autonomy necessary to create their own professional opportunities.
This approach reflects the UVCI’s ambition to help combat youth unemployment by making education a catalyst for professional integration and entrepreneurial initiative.
“We also want our students to take an active role in shaping their own employability,” concluded Professor Koné Tiémoman.
Through this visit, the UVCI reaffirms its commitment to consolidating its innovative training model, strengthening its international partnerships, and placing students’ career integration at the heart of its development strategy.
