UVCI is enhancing the digital skills of Fraternité Matin staff members
The Virtual University of Côte d’Ivoire continues its commitment to developing digital skills. On Thursday, June 25, 2026, the institution launched a training session in its Visio Room for twelve employees of the Fraternité Matin Group, drawn from the Editorial Department, the Information Systems Department, and the Human Resources Department.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the Director of the Training and Research Unit (UFR) for Computer Science and Digital Sciences, Dr. Georges Nogbou, who noted that this initiative is part of the partnership between UVCI and the Fraternité Matin Group. This partnership aims, in particular, to build capacity and develop the skills of staff at both institutions.
Scheduled to last two days, this training addresses topics aligned with the challenges of the digital age. The first day is devoted to collaborative workflows and essential digital hygiene, while the second focuses on the ethics of artificial intelligence and the management of augmented information.
Through these various modules, UVCI aims to equip participants with tools and methods that will enable them to optimize their professional practices, particularly in the areas of information collection, analysis, and dissemination.
Addressing the participants, Georges Nogbou emphasized the importance of this training in a context marked by the digital transformation of organizations.
“You are information professionals. This training represents an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and discover tools that can improve the production and dissemination of increasingly relevant and high-quality information,” he stated.
The UFR Director also encouraged participants to prioritize an approach based on exchange and the sharing of experiences.
“Don’t think of yourselves solely as learners, but as professionals with experience and expertise. Make this training a genuine forum for dialogue and mutual enrichment with the instructors,” he urged.
According to him, this collaborative dynamic will help further strengthen relations between UVCI and the Fraternité Matin Group, while promoting greater adoption of digital tools within the teams.
Reflecting on the cooperation between the two institutions, Georges Nogbou called for greater recognition of this partnership, which he considers a model of complementarity between the academic world and the media.
Finally, he commended the commitment of UVCI President Professor Koné Tiémoman, as well as that of Fraternité Matin Group CEO Serge Abdel Nouho, whose involvement made this capacity-building initiative a reality.
